Located JUST north of Phuket, in the idyllic Phang-Nga province, this area has so much worth exploring, with some of Thailand’s most famous sights within easy reach.

JAMES BOND ISLAND

Fancy a day out sailing in search of these stunning islands made famous by James Bond himself…

Rent a local longtail boat or opt for a more luxurious yacht and sail the bay in search of these stunning limestone rock formations. Along the way take time for some snorkeling and be sure to stop for lunch at one of the many great restaurants hidden away on remote beaches.

SIMILAN ISLANDS

White sand and turquoise waters your thing? Oh and did we mention some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world…

A short drive north from Natai takes you to the seaside town of Khao Lak which is the point from which to charter a boat for the day and head out to the stunning Similan Islands. Whilst made famous due to the abundance of sealife beneath the surface, the islands themselves form part of a National Park and remain almost unspoilt.  Head off to explore the (small) islands and find a comfortable spot to sit back and enjoy the views.

AO PHANG NGA NATIONAL PARK

Jungle treks and beautiful waterfalls are not something easily found on Phuket island, but there are plenty near where you will be…

After taking a refreshing dip in the waterfall pools, be sure to make a visit to the monkey temple and cave, named because of (you guessed it) the number of friendly monkeys that congregate here.  For the early risers, why not take a hike upto Samet Nangshe viewpoint to watch the sunrise over the bay.

GOLF COURSES

Championship golf courses… you will be spoilt for choice in Phuket…

Blue Canyon - offers two 18 hole courses. Conveniently located next to the airport, it is a 25 minute drive away.

Katathong - A new course nestled in the grounds of an old tin mine. A 30 minute drive north from the villa.

Red Mountain - Arguably the most picturesque course in Thailand. Located in the centre of Phuket it will take an hour to reach, but for any serious golfer this is a worthwhile trip.

All courses offer club rental and a full pro-shop facility.

SURFING AND KITESURFING

Surfs up…

During April to October, surfing and kiting can be done right in front of the villa (please bring your own equipment). If you require lessons, there are various surf/kite schools located in Phuket. When the wind and waves have disappeared, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding take over and can also be enjoyed a stone’s throw from the villa.

BABA BEACH CLUB

World class beach club and restaurant within walking distance…

With a fantastic pool, bar, and two restaurants serving international cuisine, you will be glad you made the trip down the beach to check this place out. DJ’s start playing from mid afternoon and if you fancy getting your dancing shoes on, be sure to check out when they are hosting one of their regular parties, which can get busy and go on well into the night. It is a great place to spend an afternoon in the sun or simply head down for a relaxed dinner away from the villa.

Villa Sand’s guests get a special discount at the restaurants and spa at Baba Beach Club. Simply present Villa Sand’s membership card upon arrival at Baba.
